Ingredients
500 grams boneless chicken, cut into small pieces
1/2 cup yogurt
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 teaspoons red chili powder
1 teaspoon turmeric
Salt to taste
2 tablespoons butter
1 onion, finely chopped
1 tablespoon garlic paste
1 tablespoon ginger paste
2 teaspoons coriander powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1/2 teaspoon garam masala
1 cup tomato puree
1/2 cup heavy cream
Directions
- In a mixing bowl, add the yogurt, lemon juice, red chili powder, turmeric, and salt. Mix well.
- Add the chicken pieces to the yogurt mixture and mix until the chicken is evenly coated. Marinate the chicken for at least 1 hour in the fridge.
- In a pan, melt the butter and add the chopped onion. Saute until the onion turns translucent.
- Add the garlic and ginger paste and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the coriander powder, cumin powder, and garam masala. Stir well and cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Add the tomato puree and cook for 5-6 minutes, or until the oil starts to separate from the mixture
- Add the marinated chicken and cook for 10-12 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
- Add the heavy cream and mix well. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with naan or rice.
